Taiwanese Braised Tea Eggs

These braised tea eggs are available when you go to any convenience store in Taiwan and they're a good pick up when you're needing a quick meal. I've been missing these lately and have been making them at home recently.
Here's how I make these braised tea eggs at home:
The first step is to boil 12 eggs for around 7 minutes and then soak them in cold water.
While that's going you'll want to prepare the braising liquid:
5 cups water
1/4 cup light soy sauce
1/4 cup dark soy sauce
1 tbsp shaoshing wine
10 cloves of garlic (peeled)
1 cinnamon stick
2 star anise
2 bay leaves
2-3 tbsp rock sugar
2 bags black tea
Put all the ingredients in a pot and bring the pot to a boil.
Lightly crack the eggs with the back of a spoon or in my case, the kitchen counter. Then put the eggs into the braising liquid and simmer for at least a couple of hours or leave it in the braising liquid in the fridge and warm it when you're ready to eat. The longer it is in the "sauce" the better it will taste.
If you don't like your eggs hard boiled, you can soak the eggs in the braising liquid in the fridge overnight and warm it up when you're ready to eat.
